CCRI communities of practice are working groups where experienced cities and regions come together to tackle shared circular economy challenges. Each community focuses on a specific topic and is shaped by its members’ needs and experience.
Facilitated by a dedicated topic lead and support partner from the CCRI Communities of Practice team, these communities offer a space to exchange ideas, co-develop solutions, and learn from peers across Europe.
Explore the eight communities of practice below.
Circular transitions are complex. They move faster and become more effective when cities and regions work together. Communities of practice help cities and regions to:
- Accelerate progress by sharing what works and what does not
- Spark new ideas through peer learning
- Build connections across borders
- Co-create tools that others can use
Even if you are not part of a community, insights and outputs are shared publicly to support circular action across Europe.
Each community of practice is shaped by its members and meets regularly to exchange knowledge and co-develop solutions. Over at least five online working meetings, participants exchange insights on their ongoing projects and challenges. These sessions are practical, peer-led, and focused on real world implementation.
Some communities may also host site visits to see solutions in practice.
These exchanges feed into practical outputs that benefit participants and the wider CCRI community.
Communities of practice will produce actionable, high-quality resources designed to support circular transitions. These include:
- Case studies showcasing local circular initiatives
- White papers and policy briefs with actionable recommendations
- Implementation guidance tailored to city and regional contexts
- Capacity building programmes
- A webinar series open to all
All resources will be available in the CCRI Knowledge repository and referenced from each community page.
The activities of the Communities of Practice complement those offered by the CCRI Coordination and Support Office, the CCRI Knowledge Hub, and other CCRI partners.
They bring cities and regions together to share experiences, learn from each other, and exchange good practice. By fostering peer learning and networking, they broaden the CCRI’s impact to more European cities and regions.
