Partner up, learn, and grow: Start your Twinning journey with the CCRI
Published on 19.09.2025
Your circular economy journey can inspire others — and theirs can accelerate yours.
The Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) invites you to apply to the new Twinning Programme — designed to help you connect, learn, and accelerate circular transition together with a peer city or region.

  What to expect?
As part of the Twinning Programme, you will be matched with a city or region with a similar level of circular economy advancement and focus area. Together, you will explore solutions, share experiences, and learn from each other’s good practices and challenges.
Your Twinning journey will include:
- A structured peer learning process over approximately nine months
- Three facilitated online meetings (kick-off, midterm, and conclusion)
- 4–5 self-organised exchanges with your Twin
- Light independent work between meetings
You will be supported throughout by a dedicated Twinning Facilitator. All activities will take place online, requiring around one day per month of your time.
Why join?
By joining the CCRI Twinning Programme, you will:
- Strengthen your circular economy initiatives with targeted peer support
- Deepen your expertise on a topic relevant for you
- Access additional opportunities within the CCRI, such as study visits and capacity-building activities
Your journey will be tailored to your needs, ensuring real, practical impact for your city or region.
Who can apply?
The programme is open to:
- local and regional authorities across the EU and Horizon Europe Associated Countries
- public agencies and publicly owned companies operating under their authority.
