Circular construction methods require new knowledge and additional budget, which often paints a too negative picture compared to reality. This guide has been developed to help municipalities futureproof construction and renovation projects.

Is there a project on the table where you consider to implement circularity? Or do you want to check which further steps you can take? Then read the brochure "Local circular construction: starting with circularity in your municipal construction and renovation projects".

Flanders (CCRI Pilot), together with Association of Flemish Cities and Municipalities (Vereniging van Vlaamse Steden en Gemeenten), have drawn up some useful guidelines to help you on your way.

This brochure gives you a good impression of what circularity in the construction sector can mean. The five leading principles for circularity presented in the brochure are based on the ambition map for local authorities that offers a detailed framework to determine your priorities and circular strategies for design and construction and to choose the matching actions that local governments can implement accordingly.

The brochure was created in collaboration with the Coordination and Support Office of the CCRI.
