About

The Twinning Programme supports cities and regions in accelerating their circular transition through tailored peer exchange. Whether you’re just getting started or scaling existing work, the programme connects you with the peer that best fits your needs, so you can learn from each other and strengthen your circular journey.

What is the Twinning Programme?

The Twinning Programme brings together a pair of cities or regions to exchange experiences and tackle circular challenges together. Each pairing is based on thematic alignment and a similar level of circular experience. Over a period of 6 to 9 months, Twins meet 5 to 7 times in structured sessions to learn from each other and address concrete challenges through practical solutions. Each exchange is guided and supported by a dedicated expert facilitator, ensuring focus, continuity and tangible outcomes.

Participation is free of charge and fully online. The programme is open to local and regional authorities, public agencies, and publicly owned companies in EU Member States and Horizon Europe Associated Countries.

Background

The activities of the Communities of Practice complement those offered by the CCRI Coordination and Support Office, the CCRI Knowledge Hub, and other CCRI partners.

They bring cities and regions together to share experiences, learn from each other, and exchange good practices. By fostering peer learning and networking, they broaden the CCRI’s impact to more European cities and regions.
