HOOP Circular Valuation Method
Updated on 30.07.2024
To boost investments in bioeconomy projects and vitalize the European Urban Bioeconomy, the HOOP project developed the Circular Valuation Method. This is a new measuring template with circular indicators. With this method circular business cases and investment proposals can be evaluated.

Relevance for Circular Systemic Solutions
This is a straightforward tool for companies and public bodies to assess whether circular projects are financially attractive. The tool can help cities and regions with their decisions regarding whether to finance a circularity project or not. It can also help with preparing for adoption and financing in the Implement phase of CSS deployment, since the tool can be used also with estimated amounts.
How to use this tool or method
The tool is publicly available. It consists of three steps. First, users answer the questionnaire which consists of a comprehensive and precise list of key indicators on financial, circularity, environment, social and progress domains. The user then receives the result scores for each individual domain, including quantitative as well as qualitative assessments. Finally, users can use this information to efficiently select projects to invest in, or to assess the financial viability of their own projects.
