Call for cities and regions: Join a CCRI community of practice
Published on 25.03.2025
Are you working on circular economy challenges in your city or region? Progress is faster when you share experiences with peers working on the same issues. Join one of the new CCRI communities of practice to benefit from focused, in-depth exchanges on a specific topic. Apply now for one of the four communities of practice.

More information
The CCRI communities of practice are dynamic working groups that bring together practitioners from a select number of European cities and regions to collaborate on key circular economy topics. These communities will provide a platform for experienced cities and regions to share insights and co-develop solutions to common challenges in the circular economy.
The 4 topics now open for applications:
- Urban planning for the circular economy – Rethinking land use, urban design, and infrastructure to support circularity.
- Municipal waste companies for circular cities – Exploring how cities and regions can work together with their municipal waste companies to drive circular strategies, from reuse and repair to resource recovery.
- Supporting local circular businesses – Exploring strategies to collaborate with businesses, mobilise resources, scale circular solutions, and strengthen the circular ecosystem through policies, financial instruments, innovation support, and capacity-building, tailored to local and regional needs.
- Cutting consumption-based emissions through circular economy – Exploring high-impact circular actions to cut resource use and emissions, with a focus on efficiency (doing more with less) and sufficiency (reducing demand).
