Relevance for Circular Systemic Solutions

The webinars cover different topics regarding the transition to a circular economy.

They aim to:

  • allow local and regional governments across Europe to communicate their commitment to supporting the circular transition;
  • provide a shared vision of what a ‘circular city’ is;
  • underline the critical role which local and regional governments need to play in making this transition happen;
  • establish a network of committed organisations to share their experiences, challenges and successes.

CCD has been developed by a broad partnership of stakeholders to ensure that the vision and commitments contained are ambitious, yet achievable, and reflect the needs of all.

CCD organises webinars on topics, which are of relevance for cities seeking to transition to a circular economy. In each webinar, examples of good practice from the group of their signatories are presented.

Examples of relevant topics that are discussed in-depth are local circular economy strategies and circular food systems, citizen engagement and behavioural change for circular cities, using urban metabolism as a tool for planning and decision making in circular cities, and monitoring and indicators for circular cities. The webinars provide case studies and best practices from cities in Europe and are practice oriented. The recommendations and useful insights from the webinars can be used for the development and implementation of Circular Systemic Solutions.
