This online platform is created in order to crowdsource and centralise data on material flows, stocks, and other relevant parameters in the urban metabolism. It offers information about the metabolisms of 72 cities from all corners of the globe, such as biophysical characteristics, infrastructure, stocks and flows. It also offers a variety of knowledge formats such as datasets, publications, maps, and multimedia.
Relevance for Circular Systemic Solutions
The plethora of information on around 70 cities from around the world that this platform provides can be very useful for cities and regions looking to analyse circularity opportunities and risks. It can also be used as a data source for material flow analyses. This can help cities/regions in their decision making, especially in the Map and Design phases of CSS deployment.
How to use this tool or method
The website doesn't require any registration and can be used for free. Its use is made easier by filtering options at the top-right corner which allows users to look for information based on cities or different data layers and media formats.
