Cities & regions getting ahead with the circular transition – a WCEF2024 accelerator session

Co-organised by the European Commission’s Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) and its strategic partners, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the European Investment Bank, this accelerator session will focus on ‘how EU cities and regions are getting ahead with the circular transition’.

It will feature the 6th OECD Roundtable on the Circular Economy in Cities and Regions, as well as interactive discussions on getting the finance right, which will connect like-minded cities, regions and partners to exchange experiences and lessons learned on the way to a circular economy. It will also introduce the main advisory and support activities offered in the CCRI framework – including, among many other offerings, the EIB’s Circular City Centre (C3) initiative and OECD’s support to CCRI Fellows, as well as propose a matchmaking session for city/region representatives to make connections with potential partners.

This event is an accelerator session at the World Circular Economy Forum 2024 (www.WCEF2024.com). WCEF2024 will gather together forward-looking thinkers and doers and present the game-changers in the circular economy. The Forum will be held from 15 to 18 April in Brussels, Belgium. WCEF2024 is organised by Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, and produced with Circle Economy Foundation (programme partner) and the International Resource Panel (science partner), in close collaboration with international partner organisations. Free of charge, open to all online.
Registration is mandatory for the event (deadline: 11 April). Please note that in person participation is limited due to venue capacity limits. In the event of a high registration rate, we may ask that only one representative per organisation attends the event.
