The region is involved in the CirkArena project, that is one of the key strategic projects in Moravian-Silesian region and the most distinctive REGRADA Třinec´s CE project involvement.
The CirkArena project stands for the future circlular economy research and implementation centre based on triple helix cooperation between regional/local institutions (including REGRADA Třinec), regional and national universities, and numerous private companies situated in the region. The project design is in line with CE global trends, including research and business competition models.
The preparation of the project started in 2020. The project aims to be supported through the operational programme Just Transition. The project pre-feasibility study was consulted with JASPERS representatives.
The research will be particularly focused on three sectors:
- specific local waste, (i.e. industrial waste from steel and coal, including dangerous waste treatment)
- biowaste
- construction waste
