Updated on 13.04.2023

Since 1996, the mission of the Cluster Éa éco-entreprises has been to support regional eco-enterprises in the various stages of their growth and to encourage the emergence of innovative solutions and services aimed at understanding, measuring, preventing, and limiting the impact of human activities on the environment.

Éa éco-entreprises is developing a multi-sector approach to achieve these solutions. The project is unique within the region, and positions eco-companies as players in the ecological and energy transitions.

Link to existing circular economy action plan

A Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP), the Regional Plan for Sustainable Development and Equality, was adopted in June 2019 and has the objective of achieving sustainable development and territorial equality in each of the territories involved with Ea éco-entreprises. This CEAP is also called the ‘scheme of schemes’ because it integrates all sectoral schemes and acts as a binding plan for the planning and urban development documents of other public players.

Therefore, the CEAP plays a role as an umbrella for both the strategies of the regional institution and those of the other local authorities covering the regional territory. The Regional Plan for Sustainable Development and Equality (along with the Regional Plan for Economic Development, Innovation and Internationalisation) reinforces the legitimacy of the involved regions by enabling them to engage a number of major issues.

Other activities

Ea éco-entreprises implements several projects related to circular economy (CE):

  • The main objective of finMED (InterregMED) is to boost the financing of innovation in green growth sectors through both the improved delivery of policies and strategies, and the introduction of innovative cluster services in the Mediterranean area.
  • The CLOTH (COSME) project aims to boost interregional cooperation by creating a cluster alliance in the textile sector, to advance business opportunities for European SMEs. It will contribute to improving the competitiveness, sustainability, and resilience of the textile sector by addressing social and environmental impact issues. The project is in line with the European Green Deal and the Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP).
  • P2GreenEST (COSME) project introduces European SMEs, actors of CE, to public markets opportunities in Moldova and Ukraine.
  • P5Innobroker (COSME) stands for ‘Public Private Partnership for Public Procurement of Innovation within the Innobroker Model’. The model has the goals to further develop, accelerate, deploy, validate, and demonstrate a self-sustainable, EU-wide, business-to-government (B2G), Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) brokerage service. The service uses an ecosystem-based business model and platform (Innobroker). Innobroker is used for mobilising and bringing together both early adopter public buyers and the leading EU-based SMEs and start-up businesses. As well as this, Innobroker is used to pave the way for the implementation of an effective, collaborative set of transnational SMEs/start-up-oriented PPI bids through a Public-Private Partnership PPI Facilitator Business Model (P5 Innovation Procurement broker). P5Innobroker has pre-identified sectors in need of innovation, which are: health; environmental protection and sustainability; energy efficiency; and mobility and transport.
