The RISERS roadmap on industrial symbiosis standardisation is being developed as a strategic reference for European and national standardisation bodies, industry stakeholders, policymakers, and R&I actors. It supports the objectives of the Circular Economy Action Plan, and the EU Standardisation Strategy, while contributing to ongoing policy files such as the revision of the Waste Framework Directive, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), and the upcoming European Innovation Act.

By identifying standardisation needs in ten priority areas - from end-of-waste criteria and digital traceability to sector-specific value chains such as batteries, steel, and textiles - the roadmap aims to enable the broader uptake of industrial symbiosis across Europe.
